Pregnancy Diet, What's Safe and What Isn't?

10 Things you should be aware of, I didn't know all of these. From American Baby:

1) Stay away from soft cheeses. They often contain listeria which can be harmful to your pregnancy. Check for the word pasteurized, if it's not then skip it.
2) Avoid deli meat from the counter, but you can eat it if it is heated up. It too might contain bacteria (listeria.)
3) Watch out for high mercury fish like swordfish, tilefish, king mackerel, orange roughy, grouper, tuna steaks, saltwater bass, and canned solid white albacore tuna. But don't steer clear completely "many varieties, like salmon, herring, and sardines, contain heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids including DHA, which research shows may boost fetal brain development."
4) Watch out for sushi, it might contain bacteria. Fully cooked fish not on the "do not" list is ok.
5) Make sure your eggs aren't runny or raw. Salmonella can be in runny or raw eggs.
6) Steer clear of too much caffeine. It can increase risk of miscarriage. You son't have to cut it out, just limit your intake.
7) No Sweet'N Low, but you can have artificial sweeteners, in moderation, you don't want saccharine.
8) Check your herbal tea ingredients and ask your doctor if there's anything in it you should avoid. Some herbs act like drugs, not all.
9) Watch out for spicy food, it can cause major heartburn, especially during pregnancy.
10) Alcohol (obviously) is unsafe for pregnant women, don't risk it.

Yoga and Pregnancy

Wondering what exercise might be best during pregnancy? Yoga can be a great thing for pregnant women. Yoga concentrates on breathing and relaxation, which can help you with the physical demands of pregnancy, labor and after. It helps you relax and helps with stress during pregnancy. Consider taking a prenatal yoga class, this is geared toward the pregnant woman, and is safe for you to do. Another benefit of prenatal yoga, it helps you stay in shape during your pregnancy making it easier to bounce back after birth.
Baby Center has great info on yoga and pregnancy.

Convertible Cribs

Considering what crib to buy for baby? Well these cribs will last long into their teens. Convertible cribs transition with baby into the toddler, child, and teen stages. All you will have to buy later on is a mattress. Depending on brand, prices vary from $250 up. This Oeuf (Bottom) crib is also eco friendly.
